On April 15, 2022, Spanish Love Songs will release the deluxe version of their acclaimed 2020 album "Brave Faces Everyone". Entitled "Brave Faces Etc.", the deluxe version will also feature 10 reimagined alternate versions of the original track listing in addition to the album songs.

"Schmaltz," the acclaimed second album from Spanish Love Songs, raised the bar for emotional punk rock to an iconic level in 2018. "Source of big ideas, bigger riffs and the biggest possible feelings about love, war, fear and existential crises" cheered America's biggest radio station NPR. Expectations for "Brave Faces Everyone" were correspondingly high in 2020 - and the album was able to add even more facets to the band's unique sound and demeanor. It has become a brave album, which shows that things are bad, but not hopeless. In the appropriately named "Optimism," Slocum sings, "Help me weather this high tide/But don't take me out back and shoot me," while the closing title track represents the album's central thesis: "We were never broken/Life's just very long."

Ultimately, Spanish Love Songs try to break through this pessimism in every way possible. Sometimes it's as simple as a hopeful lyric or a rousing chorus that relieves tension in an otherwise heavyweight song, granting a brief respite that offers listeners a comforting melody to cling to.  "If you sing something loud enough and long enough," Slocum muses, "hopefully people can find some peace in it."

Experimenting with more traditional song structures and less forward, biting moments hasn't dulled the band's sound. If anything, they've emphasized the most important parts of it. When everything is loud and urgent, nothing is. But when Slocum's voice swells to a roar on a song like "Generation Loss," the undeniable power grabs you by the collar and forces you to pay attention - and that's the difference between just being heard and truly being understood.

In the course of the creative process for "Brave Faces Everyone", countless other versions and demos of songs were produced, which now see the light of day for the first time as part of this double LP.
Only here in the Uncle M Shop you can get Spanish Love Songs "Brave Faces etc." in the "white with hot pink splatter" pressing, which is limited to only 350 copies.
